Galaudet Gallery brings a new look at Da Vinci through the work of contemporary artists who study Da Vinci and use his ideas in their artworks and practice. Placing these new art pieces alongside antique prints of the illustrations Da Vinci did which examine 3D elements on paper much as our virtual worlds attempt a 3D existence on our computer and phone screens. Artworks like paintings, drawings, sculpture and jewelry bring Da Vinci's ideas into the 21st Century.
Galaudet Gallery brought part of this exhibit to our Eau Claire Wisconsin Space for the 2025 Wisconsin Science Festival in an exhibit we titled "Fibonacci sequences, Golden Ratios and Crashing Waves: Artists Using Math to create Art" In this mathematical exhibit we explored da Vinci’s illustrations proposing ideas of perspective and third dimensions, how artists like Hokusai used the Fibonacci sequences to create landscapes and Oscar Howe’s use of the Golden Ratio. This was a fun skip thru mathematical ideas landing precisely here today.
Da Vinci with Love is the beginning of a movement of exhibitions which explore da Vinci's exploration of the Platonic Solids and their 3 dimensional corollaries. The Second Movement will be mounted in the Summer of 2026 and flow into the Fall of 2026 with Divine Dimensions.
